Do not take GLP-1 medications if you have these conditions:
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medications if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medications if you have a history of gastroparesis.
Do not use GLP-1 agonist medications if you have a history of chronic renal disease.
Do not use GLP-1 agonist medications if you have type one(childhood onset) diabetes.
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medications if you have active gallbladder disease.
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medication if you have a history of Pancreatitis.
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medication if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer.
Do not take GLP-1 agonist medication if you or a you have a family history of multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2) syndrome.

Use GLP-1 agonist medication with caution if you use any of these medications that increase your risk for hypoglycemia:
Gylburide, Micronase, Glynase, Diabeta Glimepiride, Amaryl, Chlorpropamide, Diabinese, Glipizide, Glucotorol, Tolazamide, Tolinase.
Use GLP-1 agonist medication with caution if you use insulin.
Lower doses of long acting and short acting insulin may be needed or, insulin may need to be stopped, in diabetics using GLP-1 medications due to the risk of hypoglycemia.
Long acting insulin includes: Gargine, Basaglar, Lantus, Toujeo, Degludec, Tresiba, Detemir, and Levemir.
If you use GLP-1 medication and you are on Coumadin(a blood thinner,) the dose may need to be monitored more frequently.
